Viking resort on Phi Phi island was exactly what Clare and I were hoping for. We stayed two nights in a tree hut bungalow, with a hammock on our deck overlooking the crystal clear water. Mosquito nets & insect repellent are a must, this morning I was blessed with a bite on my forehead resembling a horn about to break the surface (lovely). Yesterday we hopped onto a 6 hour long tail cruise around the island. Dam (a Thai version of Captain Jack) took us to some world class snorkeling spots, it was a bit overcast and rainy but in Thailand the water's nice and warm. We ended the tour in Maya Bay, this is the beach in the Leo DiCaprio movie, The Beach, were the guy gets bit by a shark. We didn't spot any, just tons of colorful fishies.

At 7pm every night, Viking offers a free tasting of Thai dishes to lure you into dining at the restaurant. We didn't need much convincing, we ate their both nights... Last night we wandered to Phi Phi town with Captain Jack, from earlier that day. He took us to Hippie Bar with live music on the beach and the most wicked fire dancing Clare & I have seen. A 15 year old nicknamed "Bow Wow" opened the show, then 4 more guys followed. We sipped on pineapple drinks and then appeared the infamous "bucket," a mix of whiskey, coke, lime, and redbull. We were grateful to our host but Clare had been warned of the nasty hangover that accompanies the bucket... We had a couple sips (it was pretty tasty) and then called it a night.
