Our next stop was Koh Lanta, half way between Koh Phi Phi and Krabi. We called one of the recommended hotels in the Lonely Planet my brother's girlfriend so graciously gave us but were sweet talked by an almost too forward man wearing a cowboy hat, a strange but common sight, into staying at the Lanta Blue Andaman while on the ferry. When we got to the reception I asked the woman how often this guy did this and she said he brings in at least three people a day in this way. The spot was on the beach with a beachside bar and full restaurant. After settling in at dusk we indulged in numerous tropical drinks and chatted with fellow residents as the bar staff put on a comically poor fire dancing show. Our buddies told us the night before the same guys and lit themselves and the speaker on fire. Guess Thais think anyone can be a Poi dancer. The next morning aka noon we got Moon's mixed massage combining deep tissue massage with yoga posturing resulting in utter relaxation. We didn't really venture out of the hotel but were fine with that.

Sounds like my day yesterday except in my mom's neighborhood in Bakersfield... Hmm, I guess all we have in common are the drinks, massage and relaxation!
